The first time that experienced urban adventurers get into a forbidden place, there is one thing they never fail to do: find as many alternate entry points as possible, from the inside. It's easier finding access points from the innards of a tunnel or building than from the outside, for obvious reasons. Also, the route you took the first time might not remain accessible, or perhaps is less than desirable.

In the case of the Hamm's Brewery, both applied. The tunnel not only sucked to get through, but we knew it would not be around for long. So, being responsible li'l adventurers, we had made of point of finding at least one other entrance to the place during the trip before.

So we skipped Asbestos Alley, and got in a different way (and that's as specific as it's going to get, bucko). This trip, the cellar rats rose up; we started leaving the basements of the buildings we were in to see what was above us (and figure out where the hell we were from time to time by looking out windows).

One of the first cool new locations we got into was the old Brewhouse, which I recognized from historical photos I'd seen while doing research. The space is beautiful; arched windows, open ceilings, ornate stairs, and big shiny old brewing vats. Immediately, I knew I'd found my favorite building in the Brewery.

From there, we wound up also exploring Hop Storage, the Wort Cooler, and the Laboratory. The Laboratory included the Research and Development area (with internal-windowed labs and ultra-ventilation systems), as well as the Quality Assurance Laboratory (a science-lab classroom style space, but with bags of empty beer cans everywhere).

I believe this was also the building in which we discovered the "blueprint room," which consisted of a badly mildewed office with blueprints and schematics to various elements of the Brewery strewn about everywhere, some soaked through and frozen to the floor. The general layout of the Brewery that we found here, which labeled each building, proved invaluable to navigation.

We found a blueprint folder labeled "tunnels / caves" within the mess, but our best efforts could not uncover any corresponding plans. This rekindled our desire to find the elusive Brewery caves.

First, however, we accessed the staggered rooftops of the adjacent southwestern buildings, which afforded a very nice view of the neighboring police station. Then it was time to hunt for access to the mysterious brewery caves, so we hit the basements again. Alas, our search proved fruitless, so we explored the Power Plant instead and went home.
